Our Story

Safe food shouldn't be a luxury. We built BurnerMarket to make it the default.

It started with a question we couldn't shake: why is it so hard to just eat well in Nairobi? Not fancy. Not expensive. Just fresh, safe, food you can actually trust — without spending half your week hunting for it.

We looked into it. What we found was uncomfortable: 90% of food products sold in Kenya fail basic health standards. The produce at the supermarket. The greens at the market stall. The packaged goods you grab without thinking. Most of it fails. And for busy families feeding real people, there's almost no way to know which is which.

But drive an hour out of Nairobi and a different picture emerges. Smallholder farmers growing chemical-free produce so good it would stop you in your tracks — tending their soil properly, skipping the shortcuts, doing it right. The problem isn't the food. It's that no one has built a reliable path from those farms to your kitchen.

We built that path. BurnerMarket is the bridge.

Farm to door

Nothing hidden between the farm and your table

Here's what we believe: farmers should earn fairly, and families should eat safely. Those two things are not in conflict — they only feel that way because the system between them is broken.

So we went to the farms ourselves. We met the growers, understood their practices, agreed on fair prices, and built direct relationships that cut out the layers of middlemen who strip quality on the way down and squeeze margins on the way up. Every product on BurnerMarket is traceable to its origin — we know which farm it came from, who grew it, and how.

That's not a marketing claim. It's just how we built it.

Our products

Knowing where it comes from shouldn't make dinner harder

You've had a full day. The last thing you need is to source ingredients from three different places just to cook something decent. We know that — because we live it too.

So we go further than produce delivery. Our ready-to-cook kits and curated bundlesarrive pre-portioned and prepped, with everything you need and nothing you don't. Our kombucha is brewed from our own raw materials. Our granola is made with what we source. Our juices are cold-pressed — not reconstituted, not padded with sugar, not approximations of the real thing.

Good food, made easy. Not by cutting corners — by doing the hard work before it reaches you.

Nairobi-first

Built in Nairobi. For Nairobi.

We didn't import a model from somewhere else and try to make it fit. We live here. We cook here. We know that sukuma wiki is a staple, not a side note. That dania and tangawiziare non-negotiable. That a proper meal doesn't need to be complicated to be deeply satisfying.

Everything about BurnerMarket — the ingredients we source, the recipes we develop, the farms we partner with, the flavours we build around — starts here. We're proud of what Kenya grows. We think you should be eating it.

We're glad you're here

We started with a small farmer network and a handful of people who believed the food system here could work better. That network has grown. Those customers have stayed — and brought others.

Every order you place is a direct line to a Kenyan farm. Every product you choose is proof that good food and fair sourcing can coexist. We're building something we're proud of — and we're building it one delivery at a time.

BurnerMarket — Safe food, fairly sourced. Delivered to your door.
